FAQ

What is the difference between a half coat, a coat and a long coat?

A half coat lands around the upper thigh, a coat falls to the knee, and a long coat continues below it. All three lengths are in this collection. Anything shorter than a half coat is a jacket.

Which fur makes the best winter coat?

Mink, for most people. It is dense, hard-wearing, takes colour well and needs the least special handling, which is why it is the largest part of this collection. Russian sable is lighter and warmer for its weight but costs considerably more. Swakara is flat and sculptural rather than plush, and holds a tailored line.

How many skins does a fur coat take?

It depends on the fur and the length. A full-length coat is the most skin-intensive garment a furrier makes, and smaller pelts such as sable need far more of them than mink does. Every skin is graded for colour, silvering and pile height and matched by hand before a seam is cut.

What sizes do you make?

Sizes 36 to 50, hand-finished in Kastoria, Greece. We also take custom orders and made-to-measure commissions if you need something outside that range.
