Casiani Custom Order
Every coat begins as a pattern cut for one person.
The pieces our clients describe most often are the ones that do not exist on a rail. A sable coat two inches longer. A mink jacket in a colour we hold the skins for but have not cut this season.
Every Casiani garment is made by hand in Kastoria. A custom order is the same craft, directed entirely by you: your measurements, your fur, your length, your lining. Nothing is pulled from stock, and nothing is charged until you have seen the skins and approved the design.
01
Tell us what you have in mind
A sketch, a screenshot, a photograph of a coat you once owned, or simply a description. Message us on WhatsApp, use the contact form, or visit any boutique. If you would rather talk it through while looking at real pieces, book a Video Shopping appointment.
02
Choose your fur
Russian sable, mink, Blackglama, chinchilla, bobcat, Baumarten, Swakara, fox, rex rabbit and cashmere made with Loro Piana fabric. Within each there are grades, colours and working methods, and the difference between them is the difference between two very different coats.
03
Decide the details
Length, silhouette, collar, closure, pockets, lining, and whether the piece is worked skin to skin or let out. Fur trim can be added to cashmere, or made detachable so one coat carries two lives.
04
Your pattern is drafted
This is where a custom order separates from a size. Your measurements become a pattern drawn for your body alone, not a graded template adjusted at the seams. It is checked by hand against rule and square before anything is cut, because a fault here is a fault in every panel that follows.
05
Skins are matched, then cut
Before a single cut is made, skins are matched to one another by tone, hair length and density. This is the slowest stage and the one that decides how the finished coat reads. Sable and chinchilla take longest, because matching at that level is closer to sorting than selecting.
06
Built, fitted and finished
The garment is sewn, shaped on the form and finished by hand. Before it ships we send you photographs of the completed piece. It then travels by UPS or DHL, insured and tracked, free of charge anywhere we ship, registered with a serial number you can verify at any point in its life.
Digital precision, finished by hand
Fur is unforgiving. A pattern that is a few millimetres out will not show on the table, but it will show across the shoulders of a finished coat. We draft and plot patterns digitally so every panel is exact and repeatable, then cut, match and sew by hand, because no machine can judge how two skins sit against each other.
It is not a choice between traditional and modern. The precision is what makes the handwork worth doing.
One thing worth saying plainly. Because a custom garment is cut to one person's measurements in a fur chosen for them, it falls outside our standard 14 day return window. We would rather tell you at the start than at the end, and it is why we spend so long on the fur selection and measuring stages.
