What is the difference between a fur jacket, a half coat and a full coat?

A jacket ends at or just below the hip, a half coat lands around the upper thigh, and a full coat falls to the knee or below. Jackets use the fewest skins, so they are the most affordable entry point, and they are the easiest length to wear over trousers.

Which fur is best for a first jacket?

Usually mink. It is dense, hard-wearing, takes colour well and needs the least special handling. Swakara and Baumarten are lighter and more graphic if you want something less traditional, and bobcat or fox if you want visible pattern and volume.

Can a fur jacket be worn in mild weather?

Yes. Sheared and plucked pieces, short-sleeved jackets and vests are all built for transitional weather rather than deep winter. Fur breathes well, so a lighter jacket stays comfortable well above freezing.

What sizes do Casiani jackets come in?

Sizes 36 to 50, hand-built in our Kastoria atelier. Made-to-measure and custom orders are available.
