Chinchilla is the softest fur there is, and a jacket is the most practical way to wear it. A shorter cut needs fewer of these very small pelts than a coat and suits how light the fur is. Notch collar, stand collar and short sleeve styles in natural, smokey and dyed chinchilla, one trimmed in Blackglama mink. Made by hand in our Kastoria workshop.

Is a chinchilla jacket good for everyday wear?
Treat it as an occasion piece. Chinchilla has no guard hairs, so it is very warm for its weight but less resistant to rain and rubbing than mink. Avoid wet weather and bag straps sitting on the same spot.
Why does a chinchilla jacket cost more than mink?
Chinchilla pelts are very small, so even a short jacket needs many of them, and the fur is delicate to work by hand. Mink skins are much larger.

Sizes 36 to 50, made by hand in Kastoria, Greece. We also take custom orders if you need something outside that range.
