Vests

Sleeveless pieces, cut short or long, in chinchilla, mink, fox and Russian sable. A vest uses fewer skins than any sleeved garment, so it is usually the least expensive way into a fur, and it is the piece that works earliest in the season: worn over a knit in autumn, under a coat in deep winter. Collarless, notch collar and long designs, hand-built in our Kastoria atelier in sizes 36 to 50.

By fur: Chinchilla, Mink, Fox, Russian Sable. Other lengths: Coats, Jackets, Capes.

FAQ

Is a fur vest cheaper than a fur coat?

Almost always, because price in fur follows the number of skins. A vest has no sleeves and less length, so it needs the fewest pelts of any garment we build. The same fur in a vest costs a fraction of what it costs in a full-length coat.

When do you wear a fur vest?

Earlier and later in the season than a coat. A vest over a knit or a shirt carries autumn and spring, when a full fur is too warm, and it layers under a wool coat in deep winter without adding bulk at the sleeve.

Which fur is best for a vest?

Chinchilla and mink are the most worn here. Chinchilla is the softest fur there is and shows beautifully across a flat panel with no sleeve seam to break it. Fox gives the most volume and visible pattern, and sable the lightest weight.

What sizes do you make?

Sizes 36 to 50, hand-finished in Kastoria, Greece. We also take custom orders and made-to-measure commissions if you need something outside that range.
